How to Use the Delta Dental of Iowa Member Connection

Understanding the ins and outs of your dental insurance plan can seem overwhelming. At Delta Dental of Iowa, we make it easy to access and become familiar with your coverage with the help of our Member Connection.

Your Delta Dental of Iowa Member Connection allows you to check the status of claims, find an in-network dentist, use our cost estimator tool, and more.

Finding the Member Connection is easy! Head over to our website and locate the “Sign In” button in the top right. To log in, you must have an active account.

Creating a new member account

One advantage of being a Delta Dental of Iowa member is that you can access all of your dental plan information online. If you haven’t created an account, this will be the first step in managing and monitoring your dental benefits.

Create a Delta Dental of Iowa online account by clicking here.

Note: To create an account, be ready to provide your full name, member ID number, date of birth, and zip code. Make sure you enter your name as it appears on your ID card.

Once you have created your account, you can go online anytime to access your benefits. 

How to use the Delta Dental of Iowa Member Connection

Log into the Member Connection. Locate the “Sign In” link, found in the top right corner of our Delta Dental website, and click it. 

Make sure you select the account you want to log into. If you have both dental and vision coverage through Delta Dental, select “Dental and Vision Member”. You will then be prompted to enter your username and password.

After you enter your username and password, you will see your member dashboard.

On this page, you can access your plan information, see recent claims activity, and print an ID card.

Plan Details

Click on the “View Plan Details” icon to view your benefit coverage. This will show the percentage you will pay for your care depending on the type of provider you are seeing. Keep in mind in most cases, you will have lower out-of-pocket costs and better benefits when you see an in-network provider.

Claims Information

An insurance claim is a request for payment submitted by a patient or provider to the patient's insurance provider. In most cases, you will never need to file a claim. The Claims section of our website will show you how much the carrier will pay, your responsibility for payment, and the claim status.

Here you will be able to view your accumulations, benefits, claim, preventive history, additional benefits, and your ID Card.
