One Team, One Mission: Delta Dental Employees Give Back to Anawim Housing

Each year, Delta Dental of Iowa employees participate in a Give Back project that supports our mission of bringing smiles to Iowans. The Give Back initiative is made up of three components: GIVE, PROVIDE, and VOLUNTEER.
Anawim Housing, a non-profit focused on building homes, home and community across Iowa, was selected as the recipient of the 2024 Give Back project. Founded in 1987, Anawim Housing works to end homelessness by ensuring the most vulnerable Iowans have a safe place to live. They are the largest provider of permanent supportive housing in the state. Today, more than 1,000 individuals live in Anawim-supported housing; over half of them are children.
On any given day, an estimated 2,600 Iowans are homeless. Anawim Housing also provides solution-driven programming to support individuals. These services include:
- Resources to assist in goal realization
- Housewarming baskets filled with cleaning supplies
- Neighborhood gatherings and community resources
- Educational programming

The Give Back
GIVE: Delta Dental of Iowa made a $5,000 donation to Anawim Housing in support of their ongoing efforts to end homelessness in Iowa.
PROVIDE: Delta Dental employees were encouraged to donate items to fill housewarming baskets. Items included dish soap, sponges, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, multi-purpose cleaner, Comet and buckets.
VOLUNTEER: 100 percent of Delta Dental of Iowa employees came together for two days in May to fill 100 housewarming baskets with cleaning supplies and household products.
