By Caroline Jacobson on May 22, 2017 in Healthy Living
Post-sweat session smoothies and cold-pressed juices are the hot, new go-to for people on the go. Here’s the thing: Ingredients like protein powder and fresh fruit are generally healthy, but add too much and you may be slurping down more than ¼ cup of sugar!
Recipe to the rescue! Our superfood smoothie is healthy for both body and smile, and we promise the finished product will please your palette. We’re berry excited for you to try it.
Strawberry Flax Smoothie
- 1⁄2 cup frozen strawberries
- 1⁄4 cup Greek yogurt
- 1⁄4 cup skim milk or almond milk
- In addition to tooth-strengthening calcium, dairy contains lactic acid. This acid fights decay and acts as a shield against harmful bacteria.
- 1⁄2 cup fresh spinach
- 1 teaspoon flax seed
- 1 tablespoon protein powder
Combine all ingredients with 10, 1-second pulses. Puree until smooth—about 2 minutes.
