3 Reasons to Re-evaluate Your Dental Insurance
Posted on May 30, 2017 in Insurance
Open enrollment comes once a year, but it’s never too early to re-evaluate your current dental or vision plan.
As we approach the middle of the year, take the time to re-evaluate your coverage to ensure it lines up with your present lifestyle. Here are three factors to consider:
1. Current Budget
Does your current plan make sense with what’s in your bank account? Be sure to consider your monthly expenses vs. the amount you spend on dental treatment. Depending on your needs, it may be time to reconsider your deductible vs. premium costs.
Remember: With a focus on preventative care, both dental and vision insurance is designed to save you money in the long run.
2. Changes in Health
As we age -- so do our teeth and eyes -- and sometimes our pearly whites and peepers may need a little extra TLC. Depending on your health, consider exploring a plan that provides more extensive coverage.
3. Future Needs
Are wedding bells and baby carriages in your future? How likely is your employment or living situation to change in the next few months? Whatever is happening in your immediate future, make sure your dental plan is able to keep up.
If any of these events are happening sooner rather than later, you may qualify for a special enrollment period.
