Delta Dental of Iowa offers financial assistance for dental practices affected by derecho

Thousands of Iowans felt the impact of the rare derecho that passed through Iowa on August 10. To provide immediate financial assistance, Delta Dental of Iowa’s Disaster Assistance Grant Program is available for network dentists who have had a total or significant loss to their dental practice by the recent storms. Delta Dental will award grants up to $2,000 for an individual dental practice and $4,000 for multiple dentists practice. 

“2020 has been a tough year for many of our provider partners between closures during the COVID-19 pandemic and now those hit hard by the recent derecho storms,” said Jeff Russell, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Iowa. “Doing good for our community is in our DNA and during this crisis, Delta Dental has looked for opportunities to extend a hand to our dental partners and neighbors in need.”

In addition, Delta Dental and its Foundation have committed more than $20,000 to derecho relief efforts to date in Eastern and Central Iowa. These relief efforts include monetary donations and supplies such as toothbrushes, face masks, hand sanitizer and water bottles.
