Delta Dental of Iowa Names Interim Leadership

Delta Dental of Iowa announced today that April Schmaltz, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Todd Herren, Senior Vice President of Technology and Operations have been named interim Co-CEOs. Schmaltz and Herren will take on additional leadership responsibilities in their new roles.

“April and Todd have been a tremendous asset to Delta Dental during this leadership transition and have the full support of the Delta Dental Board,” said Ed Brown, Board Chair of Delta Dental of Iowa. “Together, April and Todd have led the company’s strategic priorities and they will continue to build on this success.”

Schmaltz has been with the company since 2014 overseeing sales, marketing and product. Herren has overseen Delta Dental’s technology and operations since 2015. In 2020, both Schmaltz and Herren were promoted to senior vice presidents as the company continued to grow and diversify its product offerings.
