Delta Dental of Iowa President & CEO Jeff Russell stepping down to pursue new opportunity

Delta Dental of Iowa announced today that Jeff Russell, President and CEO, will be leaving the organization to pursue a new opportunity as the President and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska. Russell has been with Delta Dental since 2013 and during his tenure, Delta Dental experienced significant growth in its core dental business and continued to diversify its product offerings.

“Jeff has had a tremendous impact on Delta Dental and we have been fortunate to have his leadership for the past 10 years,” said Ed Brown, Board Chair of Delta Dental of Iowa. “I believe we are in a great position as a company – we have strong financials, a vibrant culture, a strategy focused on innovation and diversification, and an exceptional leadership team that is committed to the company’s continued success.”

Under Russell’s leadership, the company experienced significant growth, doubling its membership and focusing on diversification and investment strategies. During his tenure, the company expanded its government programs, upgraded technology solutions, focused on member and provider relationships, continued to expand the work of its Foundation, and created an exceptional company culture.

The Delta Dental Board has formed a search committee to lead the efforts for a new President and CEO. Delta Dental is seeking an executive leader to build on the company’s growth and strategic priorities.
