Posted on April 8, 2025 in Foundation

Delta Dental of Iowa and its Foundation committed $3.6 million to 324 organizations to address oral and overall health needs in 2024. The not-for-profit insurance company and its Foundation have invested a total of $73 million to improve the health and well-being of Iowans since 2002.

“At Delta Dental of Iowa, we’re committed to making our communities healthier and that commitment extends far beyond the insurance benefits we provide,” said April Schmaltz, president and CEO, Delta Dental of Iowa. “We recognize the challenges some Iowans face in accessing the resources they need to achieve health and well-being, which is why we partner with organizations that share our goal to support healthy smiles, healthy vision, and healthier lives.”

Delta Dental focuses its giving on programs that strengthen connections between oral and overall health, support healthy activities and healthy communities, and improve the social and emotional well-being of Iowans.

Highlights of projects and grant programs in 2024 include:

  • Awarding four FIND (Fulfilling Iowa’s Need for Dentists) Loan Repayment dentists, located in Eldora, Lenox, Corydon, and Atlantic/Avoca.
